Nossa História
fundado em 29 de Abril de 1981
Sindicato dos Metalúrgicos de Ouro Branco e Base
Depois de atuar dois anos como Associação, foi fundado o Sindicato dos Metalúrgicos de Ouro Branco e Congonhas, em 29 de abril de 1981.
A base territorial da entidade abrange um conjunto de cerca de dez mil trabalhadores e, atualmente, conta com mais de três mil associados.
Desde o início, o Sindicato tornou-se conhecido nacionalmente, devido às lutas empreendidas na base e à intensa participação no movimento sindicalista brasileiro.
Participou da fundação do DIESAT - Departamento Intersindical de Estudos da Saúde e dos Ambientes de Trabalho – e do DIAP – Departamento Intersindical de Assessoria Parlamentar.
Teve intensa atuação no Congresso Constituinte, quando chegou a ser escolhido como coordenador dos trabalhos realizados pelos sindicatos mineiros naquela Assembléia.
Participamos da direção nacional da Força Sindical, central a qual estamos filiados. Participamos do Conselho Municipal de Saúde de Ouro Branco, do Conselho Estadual de Saúde do Trabalhador e integramos, representando a Força Sindical, a Comissão Nacional do Benzeno, órgão consultivo do Ministério da Saúde. Somos integrantes, ainda, da Comissão Municipal de Emprego de Ouro Branco.
Desde que assumiu a atual diretoria tem feito grandes mudanças no Sindicato. A primeira grande vitória foi à quitação do financiamento do prédio de nossa sede em 2001, além de sanar todas as dívidas que tínhamos.
A partir de 2002, pudemos investir em melhorias para o associado, adquirindo 09 (nove) apartamentos em Guarapari/ES, onde nossos associados e dependentes podem passar suas férias e feriados em um local aconchegante e com preço acessível.
As vitórias nos últimos anos foram muitas, sempre focando na luta pelos direitos dos trabalhadores e pensando nos interesses dos filiados ao nosso Sindicato.
