Não se pode exercer a luta dos trabalhadores isoladamente, sem a conexão com a comunidade em que está inserida a base sindical.
A entidade, por isso, interfere e é influenciada pelas manifestações político-econômico-culturais da região de Ouro Branco, Congonhas e Conselheiro Lafaiete.
Já há alguns anos, o Sindicato mantém parcerias com órgãos públicos, instituições das áreas de saúde e educação, e entidades da sociedade civil organizada, com o objetivo de promover o desenvolvimento regional em todas as áreas, o qual possa resultar em qualidade de vida para metalúrgicos e população em geral, direta ou indiretamente envolvidos com a atividade econômica predominante.
