Após o Brasil registrar mais de 500 mil casos prováveis de dengue, a mais recente preocupação dos especialistas é o aumento dos pacientes assintomáticos. Essa condição, conhecida como transmissão silenciosa, representa um desafio significativo na luta contra a propagação do vírus, uma vez que as pessoas infectadas não apresentam sintomas da doença.
Metade dos pacientes com dengue não manifesta sinais da doença, o que torna difícil detectar e controlar a sua disseminação. Mesmo sem sintomas, essas pessoas podem ter o vírus circulando em seu corpo, o que facilita a transmissão quando são picadas pelo mosquito Aedes aegypti.
"Acreditamos que a maioria dos casos é assintomática. Esses pacientes, conhecidos como assintomáticos, têm o vírus presente no sangue, mesmo sem apresentar sintomas. Por isso, o uso de repelente e roupas compridas é fundamental para tentar minimizar o problema da transmissão", destaca a infectologista Melissa Valentini, do Hermes Pardini.
Valentini enfatiza a importância de aplicar repelente corretamente, preferencialmente após a aplicação de creme e protetor solar. O produto deve ser reaplicado três vezes ao dia e nunca deve ser aplicado por baixo da roupa, pois existem repelentes específicos que podem ser usados sobre as roupas. Além disso, o uso de roupas claras é recomendado, pois elas repelem o mosquito, enquanto as roupas escuras tendem a atraí-lo.

No cenário nacional, Minas Gerais lidera em número absoluto de casos prováveis, com 171.769 registros. Em seguida, estão São Paulo (83.651), Distrito Federal (64.403) e Paraná (55.532). Quando considerado o coeficiente de incidência, o Distrito Federal apresenta a maior taxa, com 2.286,2 casos por 100 mil habitantes, seguido por Minas Gerais (836,3), Acre (582,2) e Paraná (485,3).
Até o momento, pelo menos 12 mortes por dengue foram confirmadas em Minas Gerais. A gravidade da situação exige ações efetivas de controle e prevenção por parte das autoridades de saúde e da população em geral. O combate ao mosquito Aedes aegypti e a adoção de medidas preventivas são fundamentais para conter a propagação da doença e proteger a saúde da população.
